So you're calling us unintelligent and you're asking us for help understanding this?? Really?

No one can back up their claims that the Democrats are to blame?

There's been plenty of threads and posts to address this claim.

Republicans are actively trying to pay workers, Dems are voting no to this.

Do you deny this statement?

Republicans are offering the Dems things they want, in return they are asking for funding for the wall.

Do you deny this statement?

Democrats are refusing to give the republicans ANYTHING at all.

Do you deny this statement?

Dems are also actively trying to pay workers. So your first question is dishonest and therefore does not deserve to be taken seriously.

Yes. But Democrats are refusing to pay for something while we lack a funded government. That just seems responsible.

Yes. But Republicans are refusing to fund the government until they get exactly what they want.

Nobody is going to be voting with this in mind in 2020. I don't care who is blamed for the shutdown. Keep it going until the 5.7 billion is included.

A president that doesn't act like a child. A congress that is capable of actual debate and bipartisanship instead of gridlock that we've had for 8+ years.

I’ll repeat my question. Did you feel the same when Obama held the government hostage in 2013 for his pet project and the ability to borrow more money?

Can't the president veto the bill?

Not if it never makes it to his desk.

Appropriations bills (which is what is need to open the government, funding) start in the House, once approved move to the Senate, once approved (perhaps with limited amendments), go to the president for signature into law. On January 3, the House passed a bill to fund the government through September and sent it to the Senate. McConnell hasn't brought that bill to a vote. I think he brought a similar, Senate bill, to a vote today where it failed to pass.

McConnell, being of the same party as the president, won't send a bill to the president that he thinks the president won't sign.

That bill also included wall funding. Why can't you be honest?
Show me where I said it didn't include wall funding. Stop lying.

Yeah arguing against spending 5.7 billion on an unnecessary project that will solve nothing is definitely against Libertarianism.

Oh see basic finances here. When you are out of money, you shouldn't spend more money on something you don't need.

Then why did Democrats, when Obama was President, vote in favor of spending 9 times that much on building a border wall?

They're in the wrong. Hostage takers aren't winning this one.

You're intentionally wording questions and answers in a dishonest way by overlooking key information.
