This feels like a spot with manufacturing outrage. On both sides.
12 accounts complain on Twitter. Buzzfeed does an OMG “article.” Then thousands complain about how everyone’s trying to force views on them. Then other outlets start picking it up and it seems like it was a bigger movement than it ever was.
I haven’t dug into this instance specifically but it seems to follow along in the same lane at a glance.
It feels so rare that these outrages actually start with a huge volume of people upset about, in this case, whether the actor was gay.

Yes he does. Elton John writes the music and Bernie Taupin writes the lyrics as Elton John said he can’t write lyrics for shite and Taupin was a poet. Elton John is still writing the music

So, what I’m reading is, some people with warped sense of reality that like to pretend to be someone that they’re not are pissed at someone who has a clear grasp of reality but is pretending to be one of those people with warped sense of reality pretending to be someone they’re not.
