So let's give control to the state

Ok, let's turn over education without any oversight to Mississippi, Louisiana, and all of the south. Would do you think will be the outcome ? We are essentially there now.

Oooohhh. This sounds like some tin foil stuff. Please expand. How will we no longer be able to control how marketable we make ourselves?

Well the country is going to need teachers in the future. Either private, or public, so that is not part of the equation. Obviously the country is going to need well grounded and intelligent individuals to lead moving forward. Well, who is going to teach them? A positive future generation is going to require good teachers. I am not talking about the teachers union trash. I teach and I fully believe in a merit based system. Get rid of the dead weight, and yes there is a bunch.

Currently there is a giant teacher shortage in most states because nobody wants to make a career out of it. Most who do, leave within the first 5 years. So, where is the intellect going to come from to educate the future generations. AI?

I just think that if you can identify peoples who are really, really good at their curriculum (and I am talking math and English scores), then you need to give them a bit of incentive to stay in the field.

Also they want EVs, he made one that works. They want to get people and material to space, he is providing them that for much less than it would cost them (tax $) to do themselves.

Imagine the corruption and waste and incompetence.

And Tesla paid $0 in taxes in 2025.
Irrelevant. The business’ tax filings and tax obligations are completely separate from the owner or CEO’s personal income tax obligations. So unless Elon wasn’t taking any salary, he was paying personal income taxes on whatever income he received personally.

But be mad at the tax code if Tesla didn’t owe taxes. Don’t be mad at the business for doing what everyone else would do if they had an army of accountants that could find every legal loophole in the system

No oversight? So decent children could get an education without a daily dose of culcha?

Oh, great question. Why do you think the red states lag far behind the blue states ? It's education.

Not true at all. You can self teach everything you need to learn. Teachers are nothing more than overpaid baby sitters with lesson plans

When was the last time you looked at state education rankings?

LINK

1. New Jersey
2. Florida
3. Colorado
4. Utah
5. Massachusetts
6. Wyoming
7. Wisconsin
8. South Dakota
9. Washington
10. Connecticut

The “quality” of education varies quite a lot on factors far beyond political positions and tax revenue.

Well first of all, most teachers aren’t paid according to the market rate. They’re paid according to whatever the law says they should be paid. Private teachers make much more for that reason. Also, supply and demand. There are a lot of elementary school teachers, but not a lot of people reinventing technology and creating things we all use every day. Lastly, there is no causation between Musk being really wealthy and school teachers not being wealthy. The two are independent of each other.

here's the good news jethro, only 23% of our 80% minority majority students are proficient at grade level in math and only 26% can read. so i guess we're getting what we pay for in little rock.

not worry the state is now paying for private school tuition! it's all good!

Non-responsive as to why those teachers are entitled to Elon’s money. You’re a teacher. I taught for about 7 semesters. You do know how to formulate a responsive answer…right?

Maybe they should’ve opened a company than builds rockets or cars rather than getting a general studies degree.

No you’re not. There are very few actually wealthy people that misunderstand the tax code, taxes, and how wealth is created as poorly as you do.
