Yup, ever heard of Enron? They created a broadband division with the goal of streaming movies and tv shows on demand over the internet to any home.

I thought it was because he got a lot of taxpayer's money to get rich in a private business. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

It’s because he excelled at something scientific. Deal with it.

The guy is a disaster. When he's done, there will be a long trail of bankruptcies, ruined careers and politicians left scratching their heads wondering, "where did it all go wrong?"

If I were him I'd try to land a gig on a reality TV show and run for president. What could go wrong?

Musk and Trump have a lot in common, so I wouldn't doubt it.

They both made their fortunes off of the government and are both con men to some extent

Musk has probably added more value than Trump however

Something the government has been able to do for the last 60 years.

There is nothing innovative about Elon Musk. The man has been testing rockets for almost a decade and has yet to launch a man into space.

When is the last time they successfully landed one of those rockets they launched?

It's amazing. There's a long thread on the OT too. I can understand legitimate criticisms, but the irrational hatred of Musk by many on TD is odd. I have my suspicions as to why.

What has he done other than copy things that other greater and smarter men have built? All he’s done is taken a finished product and made it look sleeker. He’s a multi-billion-dollar snake oil salesman who has defrauded billions from the United States. The most impressive thing he’s done since 2002 is launch a car into space.

He had an idea for an electric jet in Iron Man 2.

There may be some validity to his criticisms but those boosters touching down simultaneously was probably the most incredible thing I’ve seen in my lifetime.

NASA doesn’t land their rockets. They’re too busy orbiting Jupiter and Saturn. And NASA has been precision landing rockets on Mars since the 1970s.

What Elon Musk is doing isn’t new or innovative.

What do you do for a living out of curiosity? Do you understand anything about scientific and business achievements?

He launches rockets AND ... he launches his peen into Talulah Riley so the guy is definitely not a loser.

ETA: I've often wondered why the left never calls anyone who supports their socialist communist progressive ideas, who also have received government funding, "frauds?"

Why is that do you suppose?

Maybe you should tell NASA to terminate their various strategic relationship agreements with SpaceX. Sounds to me like they could benefit from your expertise.
