I agree the ISS is a waste of money. My opinion is that manned space travel is currently a waste. We can explore so much more of our solar system if we focused more on unmanned. I want to actually explore space, at this point manned missions are merely flag waiving.

Big deal. NASA has been delivering supplies in a government vehicle to the ISS for the last two decades. All he's done is taken low earth orbit technology developed decades ago by NASA and privatized it. That's not innovation. That's carbon copying.

When it works correctly, which is essentially never. The new roadster has a lot of problems and has almost bankrupted Tesla as a result.

And thats a good thing. As much as I grew up and am the biggest fan of NASA you could find they have been rudderless for decades. They became a typical bloated to many cooks in the kitchen government department.

Men walking on the surface of Mars can accomplish in one week what NASA has accomplished with all of its unmanned martian probes to date....combined.

What?
Who's maps of Mars will they use?
Who's weather forecast?
Who's soil compilation studies?

Yeah no. We could have a thousand probes for the expense of landing a man in mars. And when he gets there guess what he’ll do, use robotics to explore. We’ve reached the point where a human isn’t necessary, and not only that is a cumbersome huge distraction to the goal of exploration. You’ve got to worry about all that life support too. Our technology has reached the point that we don’t have to have humans there which is a great thing, it saves a shite ton of weight and we can focus on exploration rather than habitation.

Exploration is a costly endeavor. If we want to continue to promulgate our species and advance as a race, we need to invest in technology that will allow us to take the leap of faith. As hardware and technology was developed to send men to the Moon, hardware and technology will be developed to answer all the questions you just asked.

While you are correct, investing resources into developing suitable habitation is where a alot of the "useful" side of space exploration takes place.

Humans while costly don't have extreme lag time.

We fundamentally disagree here. So there's no point in even debating me.

So let me get this straight. You want the final project to run flawlessly but you want to hinder and criticize any failures that have to happen in order to make trial and error work. Sounds familiar to renewable energy issues with people on the right too.
