True.

When you cause your party to lose a statewide election by trashing the hell out of your front runner and letting the other guy win, you will never have a future in that same party.

Dardenne was smart enough to know he was finished as a republican so he whored himself out to be JBE for a fat paycheck in exchange for the endorsement.

Angelle didn't get the message clearly enough to the point where Clay Higgins stomped the hell out of him in a house race a year later and it stomped Angelle out of state politics.

I have never voted for a democrat for president and only EWE over Duke for governor

I challenge any poster to produce a post of mine that supports any notion that I am a democrat or a liberal.

IB is pretty conservative by all accounts, he just doesn’t have the same stance y’all do on tariffs.

I find myself in complete agreement with him if it becomes a long term policy but I have come around to the fact that short term tariffs to put the hurt on China are fine.

This.

IB is good people.

He just needs a Dale Carnegie course and public relations seminar.

One reason why I have not piled on IB with the rest of the board is that he knew what he was talking about with the film tax credits and he was dead right about that.

He has quite a bit of credibility with me albeit not to the point where I'm going to shite on Trump and scream for him to stop the tariffs.

However, the jury is still out on the tariffs and we still need to see how they shake out long term.

Rispone pushes the same trash ed reform as Jindal. Most people don't realize that he was a planner of workforce funneling through school vouchers. He planned to create low cost labor by putting poor kids in job training schools, where so damned many would get certified in the same skill training programs that the poor kids would scrap over the few jobs offered. Compartmentalized education.

To think people want to train high school students who aren't college types for skilled jobs where they could get hired.

Oh the shame!!!!!!

What a crock. How about a link to some of that?

Rispone is a major supporter as am I of school choice. He is right on the issue and we should implement school choice for every family as soon as possible. We certainly are not improving with the system we have today.

As far as those that say I need to display more tact in my posting---maybe.

No conservative has been more insulted, more attacked by nit wits lacking any skills of informed debate than have I. Nothing is more telling than the 8-10 posts that will appear immediately after I post the news of the day regarding tariffs that have nothing to do with the linked or posted material. It is as if they won't read anything that disagrees with what they think is the reality of Trumps' tariffs. They shouldn't even post. My tariff threads would be much shorter.

I ask the rest of you to put aside my lack of patience or curt replies in such threads. The Mods love tariffs and anything Trump does and will on occasion admonish my threads while the wackos hurl personal attacks my way with no restraint. Sometimes threads concerning actual armed insurrections are allowed to go on and on. That is what Chicken wants and that is fine I suppose.

What has happened?

PT has IMHO become an "unfriendly" place for real conservatives, liberals or libertarians. It is a hive of high strung, economically illerate Trump worshippers who seem to lack any skills of critical thought.

We are in a dangerous place as a country if the populace refuses to criticize the leaders when they do something we disagree with regardless of their politics.

So perhaps one day tact will become of some importance to me as I post here but in the meantime I will call a spade a spade when I deem it necessary.

I am not the fence about tariffs. In a perfect world I would not want any; however, it's not close to perfect.

Stay cool buddy, there are plenty of guys out here who appreciate legitimate debate. Keep it up.

Good guy w/ solid family.

Just don't know if he's ready for what's coming and is willing to do what is necessary to beat Edwards.

Hope so.

He is the first candidate in some time that I think I can trust with my time to work to elect him.

Also with a $5 million war chest already I suspect many would be candidates are stepping back from the race.

Rispone needs to get the right people in place. How do you "file state paperwork today declaring his candidacy for the 2019 election" and not have a proper press release ready? Missed opportunity.
