just playing devil's advocate here but is it really any different then the person just getting the cash out of the ATM and then using the cash to buy lingerie?

I think we all laughed at that young lady who proclaimed after the 08 election that Obama would basically pay for all her stuff from his "stash". Looks like she was right after all.

Jesus Christ I'm sick of constant threads about how poor people spend government assistance.

YOU CANNOT CONTROL HIW MONEY IS SPENT. If you try it just sets up a barter market.

Just stop.

I'm so glad that they get to spend my money however they want and I get to feed the dog too!

I actually don't have a problem with that. I mean, I'm sure the majority of people who are using food stamps are decent people who are doing so because they fell on hard times.

So that means they already had a pet before they needed food stamps. If you are only going to be on food stamps temporarily, it's understandable that your dog would need to eat, too.

dog food is not an allowable purchase with SNAP

again, the EBT card does not automatically mean SNAP. There are other programs such as TANF (welfare) that deposit funds on these cards monthly. Those cash benefits can be spent on pretty much anything (no tobacco or alcohol) and you can also use them at ATMs to take out cash.

Kiss My Lingerie started accepting the EBT card eight months ago, and according to the Department of Children and Family Services, it's perfectly legal.

So we're paying for their food, housing, birth control, abortions, education, transportation, and now we've gotta pay to keep them sexually stimulated? Jeebus.

I love when people make comments like this...do you know how many cases there were in the state that received these "welfare" benefits in February?

Less than 3,500.

Total LA Population = 4,701,893

That's .07% of the total population. Not really an earth-shattering amount

ETA: by welfare I'm speaking strictly to TANF benefits, not SNAP

I think you take this stuff seriously.

If you couldn't see the "who cares if some welfare bunny buys edible panties with their EBT card" attitude in my post then I'll just tell you loosen your chin-strap.

I'm beyond caring about who gets what for free - If some unfortunate victim wants to draw some entitle money for a see-through teddy then so be it.

Lighten up Francis

3. why are we not mad at the store for accepting EBT cards?

Exactly.

When people get angry enough, they'll start boycotting these stores.

Unfortunately the jpg of the guy on his knees with his pecker in the tailpipe of a Ford Escape while wearing women's lingerie is no longer on the intertubes.

Are you saying only 3500 people in the state of Louisiana receive welfare benefits? PLEASE provide a link.

If I did you wouldn't even feel it in your paycheck. Total "welfare" payouts last state fiscal year were a tad north of 12 million. State total budgeted expenses for the same time-frame...25.6 billion...you do the math

LOL. Yeah, there's no way it's even CLOSE to being that low, unless you're utilizing an extremely convoluted definition for the term "welfare."
