I can't provide a link because the information that I have available isn't public but for Fed 2014 the total number of cases receiving TANF benefits were right at 3,500. You don't have to believe me if you don't want to but those are the numbers.
I'm not talking about SNAP and any other types of entitlements, strictly TANF (welfare) cash benefits, since that was the basis for the news report.

believe what you want...TANF regulations are stricter than just living at poverty level. For instance, you have to be supporting a child and be a single-parent family to be eligible.
