I guarantee you that 50 years ago candidates with their IQs could not have achieved 10% of the vote in their party primaries. The reason they are so close to winning is because our population is MUCH dumber than 50 years ago. Posters here don't see it in their everyday encounters but the idiots are out there and they vote.
