No one WANTS tariffs. What Trump is doing is trying to make it to where the U.S. can either start manufacturing things again and/or not get railroaded by other countries and allowing our goods to be exported at a reasonable rate. He's actually trying to promote MORE trade between countries by getting them to come down on the absurd tariffs they place on U.S. goods.
I didn't think it was that difficult to understand buy people are acting like tarrifs are super complex quantum physics.

You are absolutely correct but you should know by now there is no way these people will change. The mental gymnastics they do to defend Trump and his ilk are actually really funny, because I think some of them actually believe the bullshite they are spewing.

Bud, it’s a desperation play from a floundering political operative to secure a government position for his children that is based on a flawed understanding of history.
I have history and law degrees. Not saying that’s anything but at least a marginal foundation to create opinions on. Unlike the vast majority of this board…hence the point of this post.

The people that are most affected by the tariffs are the same people that didnt give a damn about shutting my business down during covid. They dont give a damn about my sister who has applied to thousands of entry level jobs since graduating college...while hearing back nothing but crickets. We dont give a damn about your stock portfolio. If it zeros out...my life will carry on as usual

Dude, many here have at least one degree, it's an LSU forum (while I never went to LSU, my wife did, my university was too... nerdy for most sports...).
Firstly neither a history nor a law degree is an economic degree, so it is no functional foundation for you spouting off on tariffs.
You stuck your finger in your own eye, you are the one with a hot take and no expertise.
Btw I'm assuming your history AND law degrees are your history undergrad and a law degree, correct me if I'm mistaken.
