Great...we'll have to subsidize 3D printers for everyone or it will be racist.

I get your point but I'm hoping (yeah I know, hope is a shitty strategy) that they're still some love for the gun owner since we keep the gun makers in biz.

You are such a dishonest hack.

The barrel and bullets are metal, or they would just explode in your hand. So I dispute that you can take them through airports and government buildings.

Crazy. In two yeats Trump got "conservatives" to accept left wing ideals. Gun control, tariffs,

Why would I need plastic guns when I already have real guns?

That.^

I assume that any sale of plastic guns would be the same as real guns.
Who would buy a plastic gun? What do you imagine the liability would be for a vendor to sell plastic guns to the public?

I could understand the concern over the ease of getting one through a metal detector.

Only if you also have plastic bullets.

Actually, plastic guns would give the authorities more reason to check all baggage and pat down everyone entering a government building.

I don't support gun control at all. We have enough laws on the books now.

What are some of the other examples of "him" encroaching that led you to this stance?
Just curious.

I hope not. Mechanical Engineering books will be banned.

Not mostly true, literally true. The NRA will pick manufacturers over gun owners every time the choice diverges.

This is going to always be a problem. I don't see how you stop it without banning 3D printing.

I don't think so. While 3D guns are a novelty, I doubt they will ever become popular at any level.

I don't believe the issue is hobby or home use. You can make your own metal or plastic guns as much as you want.

I believe the issue is, plastic firearms should fall under the same regs as metal firearms.

If you are selling them then yes they should fall under the same regulations, but that's not the issue. The government's issue is the availability of the information. It's why the State Department went after Defense Distributed in the first place. DD made it a First Amendment issue and the State Department crawfished. BUT... twenty states have now stepped up to take their place.

quote:

"After almost 18 months I was skeptical that there was anything else that this administration would do that would truly shock me, but they have," Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson told reporters assembled in Olympia and by phone. "Frankly, it is terrifying... We think that it is important to put a stop to this right away and make it as difficult as humanly possible to access this information."

Precisely, it's not the gun, it's about the distribution of knowledge...but in fairness the issue is now the ease with which someone can employ that knowledge to mfg a gun.
