I mean shite. If he wanted to apologize, and I'm not saying he should have, he could have gone with...….

"I apologize that my expression of my views has hurt many people who I call my friends. I hope my friends will recognize that we are all individuals with varying backgrounds and with things we hold dear. While I know they disagree with me, I hope they also understand simply by knowing me that nothing about my principles regarding respecting this country impacts my ability to empathize with and support their cause seeking equity in racial treatment. I will continue to support my friends for the fine individuals I've come to know them to be and, I hope they can do the same. Bottom line. My friends know me as a man of principle and, I will continue to be that same man"

Something like that really wouldn't have been hard.

It's funny to me because in form, if not function, Kap is more like me than Brees.

I'm an acquired taste in real life. I have people in my life who are great friends and love the shite out of me. And, I have people who can't fricking stand me.

That's because I'm rather unflinching. I don't "need" to be liked. If my thoughts are things you don't like, I'm completely fine with it. I don't go to bed worried about "OMG, I don't think Sally likes me".

For this reason, all of my relationships are as real as they could possibly be. No one I've known for a while is going to wake up Saturday and be like, "what the frick Shorty, I never knew you were like that!!!".

I wasn't always this way and I can tell you this. Being a fraud like Brees is fricking FAR more tiring and no more rewarding.

He's already went too far. Always admired Brees. He's unquestionably a first ballot HOF'er. But I have lost all respect for him. His pandering and groveling to the left is embarrassing.

I have a similar no-nonsense approach.

It cuts through life's fluff pretty damn quickly, lol.

Drew showed that he’s willing to let them walk over him. It’ll never be enough now. Ask Ole Miss.

So instead of Daily Affirmations by Stuart Smalley, will we get a "Daily Apologies by Drew Brees"?

He was a humble guy that genuinely seemed like he wanted to be there, but I always will remember how little he knew about New Orleans.
