Expand the group of people willing to offer expert opinions beyond lifetime government employees.

Hard to deny the reality that Trump surrounds himself with garbage.

Trump (correctly—at least initially) listened to the people he was “supposed” to listen to.

No.

No excuses for the Left. No excuses for the Right.

Trump fricked up Covid response bigly.

I didn’t give an excuse, and I didn’t say Trump had no responsibility. Of course the buck stops in the Oval Office.

It doesn’t change the fact that he did “listen” to the “experts.” In retrospect he was wrong to do so, but that’s what they wanted him to do, no?

Are you kidding me? Thank your Governor for whatever it is you think you are suffering from.

It’s funny that the leftist wanted Cuomo to take over. How did that end up?

You people have very selective memories.

You obviously do not remember what took place. They were trying to shut him down any way he went. It is amazing he got as much done as he did. You people are retarded.

Wouldn't the fact that they were politicizing/monetizing the virus, above all else, make them something other than experts? First and foremost, they were political operatives - and this was understood in real time.

The look on her face when trump said people could have their lungs bleached was priceless. She lost all credibility that day for not explaining that it was an excellent idea. Like one of the best ideas.

I remember him listening intently to Fauci and Birx, and very little else. Who else did he rely on? Anyone from the private sector? Anyone?

Only people who get their news from Reddit or MSNBC believe that is what Trump was getting at.

Fauci was head of the NIH. If you’re saying that Trump should have just disregarded Fauci entirely from the beginning, you’re either dishonest or the Joe Montana of Monday morning QB’s.

No shite he shouldn’t have in hindsight. But it’s absurd to hold the line that he could have realistically done anything else for those first few weeks.

After about May or June of 2020, I completely agree he should have sacked up and fired Fauci.

The Stafford Act required him to do so by law.

I've been sitting back for 2 pages watching these idiots not understand the simple concept of Incident Command Structure (ICS) when you shift into a nationally declared emergency based off of a global pandemic. You do! Don't try to force a square peg into a round hole, they have no clue. $50 says a handful of them will need to google ICS lol.

Respond to what I've actually posted. On the first day, Trump needed to listen to Fauci. But within days of hearing the nonsense Fauci/CDC was advising him, he should have stopped.

He should have tuned that fricker out and gone about fixing the CDC's response by the end of March.

So do I. Hence my posts on the topic very specifically only defending Trump’s reliance on Fauci et al to the very beginning of Covid.

It does no such thing.

He was still right to do so in the beginning.

Read an interview yesterday that talked about Birx. In addition to being evil, she's grossly incompetent and was totally unqualified for the position Trump gave her.
