Well the inclusion of "sex" in combination with trafficking seems to make it move away from factual status, given the sourcing aggregated to create the daily mail article.
I think people are tired of this sort of dishonest aggregation to create targeted, emotional reactions in certain demos.

I don't know of any in this sting doing that (it seems to be a different SES population than you'd find in that situation), but if he's breaking the law in doing so, he'd count, yes. The important distinction, for purposes of this thread, is that in your hypothetical, the father would not be sex trafficking his child.

The strange part is how emotionally invested people are in believing sex trafficking occurs more often than it actually does, and how upset they get when they're informed no sex trafficking occurred in specific stories. You'd think that would make them happy, but in these instances, they lose their shite.

If he's become an advocate for dishonesty, then I would have no problem discussing that. Just because he suffered a horrible event doesn't mean he gets to create a weird argument from authority to spread bullshite. If you want a concrete example, I'd have no problem countering the mother of Johnny Gosch if she was doing her thing. Or the parents of Amy Bradley. I mean I have called a Bishop a liar in church to his face, before, though.
If he was only talking about his experience and how the terrible events impacted him or his daughter, then it wouldn't come up, b/c why would it?

However, the point of creating dishonesty amplifying these threats is to get that exact reaction out of people.
I'll just take this opportunity to remind everyone that, by far, the largest threat of sexual abuse for children is from family, followed by associates of family.
