Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Doug Jones on Tuesday morning said he is confident he will win today's special election over his Republican rival Roy Moore. "In Alabama we have come so far with too many things, and there is saying, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Alabama is not going to let that shame happen again," he said. Jones cast his ballot at around 8:30 a.m. at Brookwood Baptist Church in Mountain Brook. The candidate planned to visit other polling places around the Birmingham area on Tuesday before ending the day with an election night watch party at The Sheraton Hotel in Birmingham. "We feel very good about where we are in this race, what we have done, what we have accomplished," Jones said to reporters outside his polling place. "The things that have been said to us during this campaign are extraordinary. The number of thanks yous, the number of God bless yous, the number of we are praying for you.

Thanks, Doug. I appreciate your moral authority concerning my rejection of your... moral authority.

If Moore wins her melt will be great, as will the celebs who are in Alabama acting like people in that state are too dumb to know better.

But after reading this board and seeing that Fox News poll(Jones +10) I'm thinking Jones may whoop him.

I love the idiots on Twitter who think this is the beginning of the liberal revolution in America. Alabama will be one of the last states to ever turn blue. The only reason it's even close for Jones right now is because of the bullshite they threw at Moore. Jones won't serve two terms should he win.

Well Clinton had a 4 point lead going into the election. How did that work out?

And I'm glad it worked out like it did. The "Dear Alabama" that is trending on twitter would be enough to turn me away from Doug Jones.

I love the idiots who are proud of places for being deep red despite this not corresponding with overall quality of life, income levels, health, crime, economic outlook, or any other factors that truly influence people's lives. Go team!

Yep it's one thing to tell people to piss off when you actually have results to be proud of. Roy Moore is a hypocrite and a failure
