A district that Trump won 58% to 39%. Y'all still not worried about the midterms?

quote:

A new Emerson College poll finds Pennsylvania’s 18th District Special Congressional election with Conor Lamb at 48% and Republican Rick Saccone at 45%, 7% of likely voters are undecided.

Saccone had a double digit lead just a few months ago.

Conor Lamb is a conservative democratic on many issues. He was definitely a good pick to challenge the seat.

Will be a close race.

This is a district with a lot of "old school" blue collar democrats.

It really isn't out of the ordinary for certain types of conservative democrats to win elections in areas where national democrats get trounced.

Look at Manchin in WV.

Look at Mary Landreiu in Louisiana....

Terrible. And this is on the heels of my local county electing a Dem as our tax assessor. We doomed now.

It's also a district that's had a GOP Rep. for the last fifteen years.

Well, yes....incumbents win reelection at a 90% clip.

Most districts have been represented by same party for a long time.

So, the only way to win is to not run as a progressive Dem?

Speaks VOLUMES as to how unpopular that political philosophy is.

The Republican resigned after a scandal which will taint the Republican brand in that district for the special election. This isn't your average 2018 Congressional race. You look at everything way too linearly. You have no ability to expand your mind and see the bigger picture.

They should delegitimize the polls by saying Russians hacked them.
