Brazile revelation tears at Democratic scab

LINK

Democrats struggling to rebuild their party after their stunning 2016 defeat were dealt another blow on Thursday: Donna Brazile’s acknowledgement that the Democratic National Committee tipped the scales in favor of Hillary Clinton during last year’s primary.

In a surprising excerpt from her upcoming book, Brazile, who took over the DNC on an interim basis last year after DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz stepped down, criticized the agreement between Clinton’s 2016 campaign and the DNC meant to keep the party financially viable.

The arrangement, she wrote in a book excerpt published in Politico, was “not illegal, but it sure looked unethical.”

“If the fight had been fair, one campaign would not have control of the party before voters had decided which one they wanted to lead,” Brazile wrote. “This was not a criminal act, but as I saw it, it compromised the party’s integrity.”

She’s complicit. She should go down with the ship.

There’s no room in government for scum like her. She needs to be in jail.

I doubt that....but I do think it is obvious that the Democratic party would be much healthier today had Sanders gotten a fair shake.

He had a platform.

With Hillary, they had no answer for the rise in populism in the US like the republicans had with Trump.

Well apparently she didn't have enough integrity to come forward as soon as she learn all this taking over for DWS...

She didn't have integrity to say no to giving Hillary the questions to the debate then play the "I am a Christian card" when called out on it...

She didn't have enough integrity to just admit it but waited 5 months later after more leaked emails came forward to finally admit what she done, half-assed apologized and still try to claim she wasn't playing favorites that was buried in a Time magazine article...

Yeah she had integrity...

Rick Wilson's twitter feed seems to have this right.

TLDR: Debbie Wasserman Schultz a moron. Shitty system works as designed.

quote:

Let me say a few things about the Donna Brazile "revelations" if I may.

So much drama, so little news.

In your head, before each of these points you should imagine me rolling my eyes with ironic drama and saying "OF COURSE..."

Of course Obama left the party in the hole. Could have fixed it, didn't fix it. It was there in all the FECs.

Of course Debbie Wasserman Schultz was catastrophically awful chair. Used to joke "May she reign for 1000 years"

Of course the fix was in from the start. The defining character of Clinton world isn't political skill (QED everything) but rather the grinding power of the apparatchik.

She always lacked Obama's messaging grace and thought org, $, and deals substituted. This isn't illegal, or even politically wrong. She had the qwan, they didn't. It was a leveraged buy-out.

Don't act shocked when politicians try to gain an advantage in an election. The DNC *wanted* to be bought.

In their eyes, both the $ model and their desired narrative ("1st woman Pres" was, honestly, their *only* meaningful narrative.) were met by HRC. Sorry, Bernie fans.

Joint fundraising agreements are common as dirt. This is not some novel HRC-only deal. GOP does it also.

*Should* they have had a DNC chair who didn't stack the deck? Of course. DWS wanted to be an ambassador or get a Cabinet gig. She made her bet, and played the Clinton conventional wisdom game to the hilt.

Brazile's article has a few new details, but the DNC's status as HRC's catspaw should shock no one.

She tweeted criticism of Reince Prebius's handling of the republican convention.

Then the DNC blew up with wikileaks and she ultimately got fired.

Conservatives kept telling the lefties that the election was rigged, but they would have none of it.

Hillary bought the nomination. That was the only way she could get it.

Times were against her, and people wanted change. She is s poor candidate, no one likes her. She used Bill every way she could to leverage herself and to control the party.

Trump was exactly the opposite, he won in spite of the party. He caught the winds of change, and he won on his own name.

Two candidates, two opposites.
