With petty tax charges pending against The Trump Organization, and with resident libs cheering the fact, it's interesting to recall the late Don Rumsfield's letters to the IRS. He wrote one of these to accompany his filings every year.

Hope springs eternal – after writing the IRS on #TaxDay for decades, I am still waiting for a response.

Tigah is racist because it is making fun of how Asians say Tiger.

Change your name.

Hannity often mentions the fact he always overpays intentionally because the day he's 1 penny short they will come after him, literally guns blazing, and he's absolutely right.

Why would Don write to the IRS about these tax filing grievances? They don't GAF.

If the tax laws are going to change and make it more easy to file taxes then that has to come from congress. The IRS can't change tax law.

The irony about a man gripping about having to spend a few thousand dollars on accounting to avoid paying too much to a government that allowed him to serve in a the position that provided the opportunity harvest billions (if so inclined of course)

He's right about the tax code, but complaining to the IRS is akin to charging at windmills. They like it complex, it keeps them in business. Institute a flat tax (and keep it that way) or a national sales tax (like the FairTax) and you have little need for a massive bureaucracy.

Taxes are inherently confusing to people like Donald Rumsfeld. If we can just deficit spend our way through two foreign decades long foreign wars with no apparent mission - why pay taxes at all?

Good for Rumsfield. He enjoyed writing the letters and he is spot on in this letter. He knows nothing will become of them but writes them for his own satisfaction.

You bashers are really weird.

Tax returns are racist. They contain math and math has been declared racist.

Yeah... I know. Clown world.

He was swampy as frick but one thing I always appreciated about Donald Rumsfeld is what a smartass he was. In the same vein as Trump.
