DOGE Chief Announces Trump and DOGE Will Cut $1 Trillion from US Deficit THIS YEAR

Elon Musk announced that the DOGE Team had already cut a significant amount of government spending. The cuts in government spending are so substantial that DOGE and the Trump administration will cut the national deficit in half by the end of this fiscal year!

Is he talking about the annual deficit? Not total debt right?
For us folk not familiar with the subtlety of financial vernacular.
