I really don't know what all has been going on, but what I can tell is Maduro, lost per his opposition and he refuses to hand over power. Opposition is saying they won by round 40pts. A Lefties dream. Apparently there was a recent kidnapping (don't know if released yet) by Chavistas of the opponent, a lady, at one of many city protests.*

If someone is able to provide a good cliff notes background timeline, please do. As I don't know what source to trust for news from down there. Thanks.

So what should really concern us:
Does Trump step in diplomatically, and heavy handed? I never want militarily, but I can see having some Navy ships show up on the international waters for some Gulf of America style "training". Just like outside of MX would do wonders for their lady president. I'm not naive to not think the Obama/Biden administration/CIA being involved supporting Maduro. So perhaps Trump goes the opposite.

I know this board doesn't like foreign interference, but it's apart of our history and needed sometimes. If just done better. In this situation, I think Trump may need to step in if we want the people brought here under Biden sent back. China is probably involved, so Panama Canal take over will be a part of it all too. Colombia and Brazil both under Leftist, so perhaps helping fixing VE is key part of restoring the Monroe Doctrine that Obama/Biden has ignored. And a part of fighting against China in our hemisphere. Guiding all of the Americas right could be a major legacy.

(I'm sure there's plenty of Grammer issues, I'm ust tapping away )

*Edit: Apparently the person voted in is a gentleman called Edmundo Gonzalez. The lady that was kidnapped was his, I guess, campaign manager?, who was the face pumping him up during the election.

Sure, involve ourselves in another truly dysfunctional country.

I think to subvert Maduro, Trump should make a pact with Venezulea's neighbor, Guyana. Those 2 countries have disputed on the borders for decades but recently Venezuela has built a military base close to the border and threatened Guyana with a takeover of the disputed territory. Venezuela has been laying claim to the mineral-rich Essequibo region, which covers about two thirds of Guyana’s surface area. Trump could offer Guyana protection from Venezuela, this would put Venezuela on notice not to pull any crap and maybe the US can get access to the minerals.

Guyana is way too small.

Just let Venezuela collapse on its own. Send the refugee males back to fight for their country from the inside.

I missed where Trump has been in office the last 4 years where the world has descended into chaos under old man Biden’s watch, lol. Trump has a lot of work today to clean up messes everywhere because the US is so weak looking to the rest of the world.

Just let Maduro know that he is expected to take back all of the Venezuelans who have illegally entered the United States. If not, the U.S. will ramp up economic sanctions. An astronomically large tax on remittances should be part of it. Sanctions against countries that support the Maduro government are a possibility too. Having a carrier task force show up in international waters in the vicinity of Venezuela is also a possibility.

Hard to understand how Maduro has lasted this long

Just send all the criminals back. Sanction the bejeebers out of Maduro personally. Didn’t we confiscate his jet recently?

That's possible, but that would mean more American boots on the ground due to their size. Colombia historically would have been a good bet, but their leftie president would most likely not agree. Trump is going to be strong arming majority of the Americas other than Argentina.

Chavis' Smartmatic voting system and Obama/Biden being friendly sympathizers. Biden seems to have relieved some of the pressure by letting millions of them up here. If they didn't have anywhere to go the region could be ready to pop off if it hadn't already.

You seriously think that any and all of this is premised on the idea of invasions with our military? Naw, I’m sure you’re being facetious.
