What, exactly, is the concern supposed to be about??

The concern is that Mueller has already identified Kilimnik as an associate with Manafort with active GRU ties (from a filing in the Alex Van Der Zwann case):

quote:

Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agents assisting the Special Counsel’s Office assess that [Kilimnik] has ties to a Russian intelligence service and had such ties in 2016.

Kilimnik is a guy who worked for and with Manafort for years to interface with Russian political interests on behalf of Viktor Yanukovych and other clients. Manafort emailed him on becoming campaign manager to ask how he might "become whole" with regard to outstanding debts of some ~$20 million. During the campaign they continued to meet including in Trump Tower. Since his indictment, Manafort has continued to work with him by violating a gag order to ghostwrite pro-manafort editorials. They were also both indicted for tampering with witnesses in Manafort's case leading to revocation of Manafort's bail. Mueller has accused Manafort of continuing to lie about his contacts with Kilimnik and today it came out that Manafort discussed a Ukrainian peace plan multiple times with him and getting polling to him (after Manafort met the Russians in Trump Tower and it came out that the Russians had hacked the DNC).

I would imagine giving info to spies is frowned upon.

Ok.

I took poll information of what 1000 3rd graders favorite foods were and gave it to the head of the KGB. Is that illegal? Frowned upon?

Again, I assume any willing contact with known foreign spies is not kosher. Is Trump alleged to have been aware that this was a spy? I can't imagine one would be in trouble if one didn't know. Of course in the past, he has bragged about mafia dealings, so who knows.

What bothers me is selling our uranium for contributions to the clinton foundation to our chief enemy in the nuclear arms foreign policy department.... and nothing happening to the ones in charge of this.

“Not kosher”

So, meaningless?

Mafia dealings

Everyone involved in construction in New York City was directly or indirectly dealing with the mafia from the 50s - early 90s. Read about the concrete club

No, participating in a conspiracy to aid the Russian GRU and IRA (trolls) to illegally intervene in an American election and get his debts forgiven.

So Trump directed the Russians to hack the DNC?

Hillary was instrumental in U1 and Obama gave billions in cash to Russia's biggest ally and largest buyer of military supplies in the ME. Why would Russia want the Republicans to take control? Romney was the only one calling them out 4 years prior

At this point, I would not care if Trump told the nation, on live TV, that he did collude with the Russians just to piss you libtards off...

You had a shitty candidate that lost on her own merits. Russia spent $5,000 on some trolls and won Trump the election? That's the investment of the millennium

When I see HRC go to jail for one thing...anything in her list of crimes, I will care.

Polling data? How about a list of 20 assets in China that were killed bc of her.

You don't have to conceive a conspiracy to join in one (e.g. Nixon was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Watergate coverup though it was never proven that he participated in planning of the break-in).

It was definitely a worthwhile investment, but running an elite hacking units like Fancy Bear and Cozy Bear costs some beans. I do agree that Hillary made mistakes as a candidate.

So we're still doing the guilt by association routine?

It's almost as if Manafort and Trump were...colluding...with Russia to try and win a federal election.

Someone should let the DOJ know, so they can assign a special counsel!

K.
I thought it had something to do with Trump, but I guess not.

Quite right, my man. Mueller will have receipts if he names Trump. Won't be arguing guilt by association but will be naming elements of conspiracy that stand up in court (even if that courtroom would be the senate).

It comes back to the same question they harped on during Watergate - what did the president (or in this case the candidate) know and when did he know it?
