Does the fact that the Senate is 50/50 hold off Dems from abolishing the filibuster?

True, they have the tiebreaking VP vote. But if something were to happen to an elder Democratic Senator (Leahy?) that upsets the balance, and the Dems are no longer in control, they have pretty much declared total, scorched Earth warfare and given the Republicans the ability to conduct it.

(Needless to say, this is one of the reasons that the GOP should fully back a younger generation of Republicans.)

Joe Manchin and Krysten Sienma I think will hold them back for now.

is it really 50/50? kamala is no longer in the senate and her replacement hasn't been sworn in, yet, right? no one has answered this question, yet, and i've asked it 6 times already.

I thought her replacement was sworn in with Ossof and Warnock.

I hate when people say it's 50/50. Mittens and several others are not real conservatives

48/50/2

I have no idea how that math adds up to a Democrat majority.

2 I’s (Bernie and one other) caucus with the Dems. For all practical purposes, those guys are Dems.

No. They’re just trying to buy time when the media isn’t looking as intensely and they will abolish it.

I kind of hope they do so the scorched earth of the democrats will go unchecked for two full years. The results will be disastrous for America. We need them to totally fail and not be able to lay blame on any Republican.

Burn it to the ground.

Why anyone would think Republicans would do this is beyond me.

If Trump had won and Republicans had super majorities in the House and Senate they hem and haw about working with the Left
