Pretty easy (albeit rhetorically dishonest) way to claim there is only one accepted definition: claim everyone else isn't "real" [x].

Neither sociologically nor theologically do Mormons fit the definition of Christian.

It’s completely unsurprising that the people who know the least about religion would contest that obvious fact.

Simple question, do Mormons believe Jesus is God incarnate?

If no than they aren't Christians

OR

They aren’t Christians by their own theology. They believe Jesus is simply a man who reached God status and that each male Mormon can also be a god with his own planet and multiple spiritual wives. And that’s not even going into the many strange teaches in the Book of Mormons that are anti-scriptural

P.S. Jesus himself said there is only one way to eternal life, and I was through him.

Or God created a heavenly host with the ability to exercise free will,
and one of those beings decided to revolt

You’re not really interested in one. You have your own very narrow-minded religious beliefs.

You can’t provide evidence that Mormons are Christians, because they aren’t

Mormonism started in the mid 1800s. It started as an alternative to Christianity. It repackaged as “Christianish” in the even more recent past (post 1970). They hold the Book of Mormon to be inspired Scripture. No other Christian sect uses the Book of Mormon as authoritative.

What kind of evidence would you find persuasive? I bet it’s that they have to hold the same beliefs as you do, right?

Using the same text as their Scripture would be a good start.

No. Holding the same beliefs as the entirety of the Christian faith has would be a good start here.

Mormonism started in the mid 1800s.

So did Pentecostalism and what we consider modern Baptism, along with a slew of other sects of Christianity during the Revival period.

How does this exclude them?

Do Catholics and Baptists rely on the exact same scriptures?

What about Greek Orthodox variants?
