I don't personally think of it as a bad thing in terms of I understand why Trump is doing it. My concern really is entirely with the fact that the guard troops are not trained for civilian police work. And given the fact that civilian police are apparently rarely trained worth a shite themselves I'm concerned something could go wrong. So I understand the motivation. And frankly Washington DC kind of brought it on itself. But that's my concern

It's not a bad thing at all. The insurgents dislike it because it draws attention on the international stage and portrays them in a negative light. It reflects how out of touch Democrats are with reality and a lack of governance overall.

And the left destroy cities when one black guy dies. Why isn’t this reverse happening when death is prevented?

Is it minorities need to die to push agendas?

It's like all thing in our politics. Think of an action and then consider if you want the other side to have those same authorities.

Republicans will overplay their hand and eventually we'll have a Democrat in office again. Do you want the norm to be federalizing the NG for domestic purposes?

What if I told you that urban chaos is a mechanism that Democrats intentionally employ to maintain their grip on power? What if I told you that peace in the inner cities actually threatens the Democrat power elite?

If you told me that, it would make me wonder how you became so wise without a Christian world view.

Fixed so you could understand the true problem. The NG being called in isn't a cause, it's the effect of local officials allowing crime to run to rampant that the police has to fix stats just to be only one of the most deadly cities in the US instead of the deadliest city in the US. That's especially telling when that city is the US capitol.

Precisely. It’s only a fix while they are there and sets a horrible precedent. Use the normal means to solve the problem.

- return the FBI to domestic crime fighting, not terrorism focused;
- increase number of fed local tasks forces
- increase number of assistant US attorneys

This is a long term solution, not a short term solution.

Wait til Newsome deploys the Guard to police white supremacy.

Yeah. The left will start playing nice and fair if we just go back to doing so. Just trust Lucy to not move the ball this time.

No. Waiting for this is exactly what we need to avoid. Keep the momentum.

So I don't know if it accomplishes much, besides setting a dangerous precedent for future presidents to send in the NG against a group they don't like in a state.

1) This isn’t being done to target “a group they don’t like.” It’s to target criminals.

2) You act like this is setting some sort of precedent apart from the norm. The President has federalized the National Guard dozens of times. Governors have deployed their state’s national guard hundreds, if not thousands, of times. For everything from national disasters to civil unrest.

Stop hyperventilating until there’s something to hyperventilate about.

Keep banging the drum for lawlessness in the guise of civil liberties. We will remain encamped in reality.

MAGA isn't really conservative, yet, ironically, claims to be the "real" conservatives.

Here is JJ literally supporting socialism

Your city received over $5 Billion from the American Rescue Plan in 2022 and $2.79 billion from the Elementary and Secondary Education Emergency Relief Fund.

After 4 years as a teacher and 1 term as a mayor your pension was worth 3.8 million dollars.

You’re a thief, all your elected officials are thieves, your city is shite, your schools are shite, your quality of life is shite….

Lock up and lock down Chicago.

You're right it will go back. I think using them to patrol while local execute warranted raids and other operations en masse would work
