It truly is shocking how irrelevant the war in Vietnam was and how much love the veterans of the war in Vietnam get....it really was merely a nothing burger that the American people knew was a nothing burger and then the press started making out like it was the end of the world and that has been the perception every since. Given the irrelativity of the war in Vietnam it is a wonder that any Vietnam veterans are even recognized as veterans....this is why the right rightfully treats Vietnam vets for what they are....a very small number of people who were involved in as irrelevant military action that has ever been undertaken. They got purple hearts for paper cuts, they got blown up because they were drunk and playing with hand grenades, they spent years in a Hilton hotel.....the GOP has the right approach to Vietnam and Vietnam "Veterans"......thank god all of the leaders of the GOP were able to avoid the stain of being part of the debacle.....they would be just as irrelevant as all Vietnam Veterans.....
