There's a illogical leap here being taken. Hating Massie and preference to having a King.

The stakes are the point here. If Massie is choosing his opinions based on flawed thinking, the outcome could be crippling for the country. Simply because Massie has his feelings hurt or something. Just like Rand, they refuse to see the bigger picture. They lack patience. Suck it up for perceived short term losses for long term gains.

"But the GOP have been doing that for decades!!" So what. Trump isn't a cookie cutter standard issue President. Take advantage of his 2nd term while you can.

You don't think some on this Board would prefer that Trump not have to go through Congress?

I am not defending the merits of why Massie votes the way he does. I'm saying that, under the present system, he's entitled to vote how he sees fit. That seems to enrage some people.

I merely wondered if some of those people would prefer bypassing Congress. Clearly, some would.

Especially since the left would love to have, not a king, but a dictator along the lines of Stalin or Mao.

Do you guys all drink the same water or something?

Where did I say President Trump is king? I was just asking if some would prefer if we had a king. Some did, as long as it was Trump.

No to king. But our congress sucks and is all for show. They care nothing for Americans and only for their interests. They’ve forgotten or ignore they work for us. We are pawns in a game no matter who is in charge. None benefits us. Biden and his criminals should be in prison right now for what they’ve done. Trump is at lest cleaning it up. As he said he would.

Jesus Christ is King over all nations. I’d like the rulers of this nation to recognize that and govern for His glory as well as for the good of the people.

Again, bypassing Congress isn’t a “make Trump King“ conclusion. Many Democrats were equally upset with some of their own senators, but nobody was talking about making Biden king. It’s always Trump. And even when Obama himself admired China’s leader for not having to deal with opposition to his policies , the media effectively him a hand job.

Did he vote opposite of how he said he would when he ran for election? That might be why people are enraged. I'd say he's entitled to vote how his constituents wanted him to vote when they elected him. Of course, it's his prerogative to vote how he thinks when he gets there, but he might not be elected again.

Do you not see how some might not be happy with an elected official who ran on one thing then voted a different way once in office? I'm not saying he did this because I don't know his platform when he ran.

Things did not work out so well for Israel when they asked Samuel for a king. I'll pass.

One who was interested in what people thought. I learned a great deal from the discussion.

My question was just directed at this Board. None of them said they were from Massie's district. Why would they be enraged?

FWIW, I can't find any evidence that Massie has voted against what he campaigned on. He's been in office since 2012. His district approves of the job he is doing.

It was worth all the flak I took for this post. Reading the comments, I was reminded that the Jefferson v Hamilton divide is still relevant.
Like most here, I would prefer a less powerful federal government...leaving most things to the states.

The hostility that Massie gets for voting how he sees fit got me thinking....

Would you prefer to abolish Congress and the Courts and have the President write the laws, interpret the laws, and execute the laws? Do you want a king?
