Because he’s a known violent felon and the officers don’t know what’s in that car that could potentially get everyone, including bystanders, killed. That’s why he was asked to step out… for everyone’s safety - a routine and universal police policy. He could have complied, or not guzzled down a bag of drugs as they approached before having a thrashing meltdown. We can play the what if game if you like. You won’t win.

But if you want less policing, a great way to get there is for career criminals like Floyd to stop constantly committing crimes.

Until then, lawful citizens deserve safe communities and will always vote that way.

These same idiots are apoplectic about “muh rule of law” when it comes to judges blocking deportations, but cops are supposed to “look the other way” when criminals are openly breaking the law.
