Do you think Gay Pride parades are family friendly events?

Remember my co-worker Sultan saying we should keep track of who doesn't show up to our workplace's get together at San Diego's gay pride parade in July? Well my workplace has flyers all over the building advertising the meetup, with "A fun event for the entire family" headlining it.

I am going to have to throw the challenge flag on that claim.

Parade crowds are trashy in general. I’m sure it’s no more or less “family friendly” than a typical Mardi Gras parade. Probably less culcha too.

They wouldn’t be family friendly even if everyone was clothed. The fact that they exist means they are celebrating sex. That’s not family friendly IMO.

Hell no. It basically seems like Mardi Gras parades in NOLA which I would never bring my kids around if I had kids. It’s basically a big sex parade. Not family friendly at all

Nobody here can tell you probably. Go by yourself this year and see if you think it is.

I've already declined the RSVP invites twice. If that makes Sultan put me on a list, so be it

No. Children shouldn't be exposed to men in assless chaps with dildos glued to their forehead.

They’re celebrating their sexuality, nothing about that is family friendly

A family friendly LGBT....XYZ parade is impossible. Unless you’re interested in the accelerated indoctrination of your children to the LGBTQ...XYZ lifestyle stay the hell away from that sick shite! At least half of the participants will be dressed up in their favored sexual kink costume, most of the gay men are there trolling for some action after the damn parade.

There is nothing family friendly about pride in SF. The funny thing is, if you ask the guys and gals who started it, whom actually experienced the wrongs, they all wonder how walking around with 30 dildos taped to your costume helps bring about the equality they all sought.

Document any and all pressure the company puts on employees to attend. Then document media reports or Facebook posts showing NSFW behavior/costumes at the event.

If the company tries to retaliate against non-attending employees, sue them into oblivion for sexual harassment.

Just shows how it is in fact a mental illness.

Just keep a notebook documenting day/time of every time one of your coworkers mentions stuff about this company get together, especially comments about keeping track of who doesn’t show up. You’re probably going to need it in the near future for a workplace harassment or wrongful termination lawsuit after you get blacklisted by your coworkers and employer after you don’t attend
