I hope he does, let the poor kids have a little more money in their bank accounts. Anyone who went to college after 2005 got completely screwed by the federal government. This would make up for it.

Oh no stop you’re hurting my feelings.

That’s not good, because apparently that’s all you use in your decision making process.

Did someone force these “poor kids” to take out all these loans?
Higher education in its current form is a racket.... but nobody is forced to borrow money.

You are an idiot.

What about those with private loans?
that accounts for below 8% of student loans. private borrowing is a choice. anyone near the student loan realm is well aware that a major benefit of taking federal gov loans is the loan forgiveness/repayment options.

Some of y’all are so pathetic with your anger. Who gives a frick if some kid has their loans forgiven? You think it will make you happy if they have to repay them for the next 30 years? Will that bring some joy to your life?

Does this mean I can get 50K towards an MBA paid for going forward or is it only retroactive?
Posted on 4/3/21 at 11:30 pm to Stonehog
I can tell your kids were never taught personal responsibility.

Ask Stonehog.

Disagreeing with a policy that encourages a lack of responsibility has nothing to do with anger. I’m just not stupid.

At the end of the day, those loans are an asset on a balance sheet somewhere. I mean you can’t just snap your fingers and have billions of dollars in debt just vanish without some kind of macroeconomic consequence. Also, I don’t think anyone takes “joy” from people struggling, but how is this fair to the guy or gal that worked and paid their loans back?

I sure hope he doesn’t.

You made a personal assessment about me for having one opinion. You don’t know me. Y’all immediately resort to personal attacks any time someone interrupts the circle jerk. It’s pathetic.

Don't be pissed at people just because your dad never taught you personal responsibility.
Your fricking ilk is always reaching into someones pocket.

Because the opinion you offered was based on feelings and emotion. You didn’t mention a dollar amount, the taxes that would need to offset this magic forgiveness or anything else. Just poor kids who were screwed.
It’s true that I extrapolated that to the rest of your decisions and there was obviously a bit of rhetoric there, but in my experience people who use emotion and feelings to make one decision will do it for other decisions more often than not.

Arguing about fairness is pointless. Lots of things in life aren’t fair. Cancelling student debt would allow millions of people to pump more money into the economy instead of spinning their wheels making monthly payments for a worthless degree they got years ago.

This doesn’t even affect me, my dad already paid off all my loans.

That explains a lot.
