No, George Carlin was satirizing nihilism. People who take things he said as their personal philosophies are idiots. Why? Because first and foremost Carlin was what? Anyone? A comedian. He said outrageous things to make people laugh or at least smirk. He went very deep and dark on it and his angle, particularly later in his career was to make people recognize their own base instincts and view them with a certain amount of disdain and by playing it very poker-faced he was good at separating good people from bad people without them even realizing it.

He doesn't at least make you think about it from the perspective he paints? He says things that are at least accurate.

Just because I don’t believe you should kill your kids doesn’t mean I should have to raise them for you

I’m not watching the video but I am for a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion if she chooses. And the decision should be between her and her doctor and no one else, nor should she have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get it. Things like making her listen to the heartbeat first are shameful and isnthe government unnecessarily making a difficult more difficult than it needs to be.

Like that chickens are on the same level as people? Come on. Everything was provocation. Well thought out, yes. But provocation. He was a master at it.

But based on the crime statistics, the legalization of abortion had an impact on the reduction of murders.
So if someone who doesn't want a kid, has it and it ends up going down the wrong path because of their upbringing.. And ends up killing someone. If you had to pick from the less of two evils which one would you pick? Abortion or no abortion and the kid grows up and takes someone else's life?

He also says things to be funny. I didn't say everything he said was accurate.

How come when a pregnant woman is murdered it’s a double homicide?

Hey everyone, George Carlin is who died about 10 years ago.
Is that how you would describe George Carlin?

Then there is the statistical side of it. 20 years after abortion became legal, the crime started to go down

I don’t subscribe to utilitarianism bc it assumes we are in the position to determine when human beings obtain value. I believe human beings are intrinsically valuable.
Your argument has been postulated for years and honestly I find it reprehensible, that abortion is essentially population control for poor people.
Also, it fails to recognize the possibility that if we promoted and reinforced a culture that believes in the sanctity of human life, we might have less murders. But no, instead lives are fungible, easily traded and disregarded.

If a fetus is a human being, how come when there’s a miscarriage they don’t have a funeral? If a fetus is a human being, how come people say “we have two children and one on the way” instead of saying “we have three children?”
I've known people who have done both.

It is population control though, and to me that’s a good thing. There’s too many people on this planet as it is. We don’t need to be adding more, especially from the poor.

People talk about Carlin being highly intelligent and well-thought-out. That was ignorant, bigoted, and unfunny.

Not really. Who does he think is running the charities that offer free diapers and baby formula? It ain't the so called pro choice activists.
