I thought 30 hours is the maximum amount of time.

No. It can be voted on sooner if debate "ends".

that's correct. they don't have to wait that long. Dims will use their maximum time to bloviate. doubt repukes will talk much.

Pretty much, yes.

For 30 hours, senators are allowed to speak and take up time. After 30 hours, the vote can be called by forcing a suspension of debate. However, if no one wishes to speak prior to the 30 hours up, the vote can be held then.

Cloture essentially kills the filibuster. Cloture establishes that 30 hours is the max amount of time that can pass.

For all of Robespierre's faults, this was one of the good things that came out of the French Revolution.

Is this the time frame where you usually see Dems sitting on the floor with their pacifiers or walking out pouting? Obviously, this time I expect them to be yelling & screaming like the hypocrites they are.

Do they limit how much time each senator can speak in the 30 hour window? Or are DiFi & Booker, etc. allowed to keep getting up and wasting time?

No minimum. They could have voted immediately.

Any senator that wants to speak in the next 30 hours can. Dems will take as much time as they can. GOP will get up there and cheerlead just to offset all the negative vote.

Dog and Pony show.

30 hour rule goes through the night as well. 4:52 Eastern Saturday is the latest the final vote can be called.
