So say they officially end the Korean War and ask American military to leave the peninsula (Mattis has said this is on the table).
China is left unchecked in the region. DPRK is left unchecked. Our main allies, Australia and Japan, would not be at all happy about this.
Peace is good but it's imperative we look at the long-term ramifications of a short-term feel good moment. If we leave, what's going to stop the North or China from taking the South? A unified Korean peninsula can only have one leader....you think Un is ready to surrender power?
ETA: Not to mention Un just proved to the world that the quickest way to become legitimate on the world stage is to develop nuclear capabilities. Previous administrations have refused to allow that perception to be made on the global stage. Trump said "frick it, create nukes and you'll be legitimate in my eyes." Brilliant?

That's not the same as NOT wanting peace in Korea, as the OP suggests.

Why ask? These are the same people who were claiming war would break out because of what Trump puts on twitter.
These are not people worth your time seeking answers. They are too dumb.

OK. Peace in Korea is not a good thing. Let's, for the sake of argument, take them at their word on that.
The next sentence: "Trump and US diplomats had nothing to do with it". So, if in fact, it turns out to be a bad thing, they can't blame Trump if he had nothing to do with it.
Win/win.

One of the main reasons why these two nations are even in talks is the fact that no one is carrying out the usual North Korean bluff. They test rockets as leverage for getting what they want, and for once, no one (USA, S. Korea, etc.) is budging. Also, China has backed off of the North Korean rhetoric because they don't want to go to war with anyone, especially with the US. Kim Jong Un sees all of this, so he really has no other choice.
Remember, North Korea exists in a capacity thinking that the US will strike them at anytime. That's why they hold their guard up. They would rather not have to deal with that. IF they are stupid enough to attempt an invasion once the agreements are met; they will be in for a rude awakening. And they know it.

Correct
They also want:
America's economy to fail
America's military to fail

Thanks for revealing that you know nothing about how national defense works.

North Korea holds war drills every other day in cities in case of an attack. Tell me where I'm wrong here.

DPRK never sought nuclear weapons to defend itself...it was nothing more than a chance at legitimacy. The strategy is paying off.

Mmmbeeeer, just so you know, only 18% of Americans agree with you that meeting noko is a bad idea

They don't want to see him get the Nobel Peace Prize.

Good thing we don't pay the public to be career diplomats. The overwhelming majority of both the US diplomatic system and our allies believe that legitimizing KJU with a bilateral summit between the US and DPRK is an absolutely horrible move. There's a reason it's never happened before, regardless of which party was in charge.
