OP wants a single, unified and unambiguous answer from the two million people in the US military.
I would settle for a direct, attributable quote from one Special Ops Operator that was moved out of harms way as a start to verify this position...
Otherwise this is nothing more than reporters and their sauces... again...

So, I can question what they have had to say? I really appreciate you granting me that opportunity... Honestly don't know where the frick I would be without asswipes like you...
You give me 50 soldiers and I can find you as many dissenting opinions on any topic you want...
The entire issue with operators in this type of operation is they are on the tactical level and their focus in on the tactical level, where it should be... It is NOT their job to get into the Strategic level of their particular operation... In other words, some times they get TOO CLOSE to their mission and they let feelings get the best of them...
I have seen some good folks made some pretty stupid decisions because they could not separate their mission from their love and respect for those they are embedded with... It sucks but it is the job...

It's understandable, but it shouldn't matter. I'm sure there are lots of police officers who would be disappointed if someone took away their paramilitary gear and kneecapped their civil asset forfeiture power, but that doesn't mean doing so would be a bad thing.

I can see this a couple of ways. A lot of these guys didn't sign up to just sit around, they want action. I'd also assume some have local assets that they feel like they're leaving behind.

Around 2003 or so, my family worked with a refugee family, where the father had been murdered by the Taliban because he worked with US forces (or something like that, I don't remember the exact story). Incredibly sad. We gave them a lot of stuff to help them get settled, but eventually they went back to Afghanistan.

All of these years I was told that the military doesn’t like being involved with operations that don’t have a clear mission to accomplish - you know get in win and get out.
It’s a bit more complicated than that. Sure if you ask do you want endless deployments the answer is ‘no’. But think critically for a moment about what happens with a withdrawal. It’s not about the perception. The error is strategic in nature.

Maybe there is an answer. Instead of letting people across our Southern Border calling them "refugees" when we we know that's a load of BS,slam the door in their faces, number one.
Close the southern border. Shut it tight. Now Anti what do you mean? Hear me out.
If you are all so worried about the people we are deserting, those that have fought at our sides, the ones that have legitimately done so, give them the option to come here. Sounds to me like they've earned it if they want it. Our people know who they are. Better them, people that have fought for us and with us, than the ones bringing drugs and a hatred for our way of life.
Better a Kurd who likes Americans than some socialist from south of the border that doesn't.

An endless, never ending commitment?
The Kurds can’t stand on their own. So yes, that’s what it would take.
And that’s what made our conduct so irresponsible.
Because of course we were never going to stay forever. No one would.
The Kurds are also fools though. This was transparently predictable.

Bingo! Turkey will not do us any favors in Syria. I’m sure Erdogan was licking his chops when he was given the green light by DJT.

This is the thread where progs pretend they wouldn't aplaud King Hussein if he moved troops from Syria.
Unbelievable

Unfortunately for them, they’re tactical operators and not strategic planners. I am proud as an American that they love their job and their relationships with their Kurdish hosts, but this is big picture.

Just the opposite. Long term its a good plan but in the short term(tactics) it may be concerning.
