Can’t stand Kimmel but I Gotta hand it Kimmel for holding his ground.
The ratings for his show dictated the move imo

He was actually planning on blaming MAGA for "twisting" his words.
We're living rent-free inside of his head, and I don't even want to be there.

No mention that the two largest affiliates had already announced the show was going to be preemptived on their stations which are over half of the ABC stations nationwide?

This is one of the reasons it's not coming back. These affiliate groups aren't going to put him back on.
The other is that Kimmel's ratings made Colbert's look good.

One thing I've taken away from this whole Kimmel kerfuffle, a very important thing I believe, is that the continued consolidation of media companies/outlets under smaller and smaller group of companies is not a good thing. These deals creating massive, ever-growing media giants all operating under the same umbrella and direction of a limited few people will be problematic in the future.

What a fricking idiot,

You appreciate Kimmel sticking to his lies & word salad explanation of blaming the Right?
OK.
OK.

I don’t appreciate what he says because I disagree.
I support people’s rights to say things I disagree with. I’m mindful of the comedic context.
I respect anyone standing behind their actions even if it disagrees with my own political beliefs.

His actions are reprehensible. He’s trying to gaslight people to believe a false narrative of a political assassination. This isn’t small potatoes people.

So a pedophile or klansman who stands by his words and opinions is OK in your book?
Wow, good to know I guess.

Because he was banging Sarah Silverman after leaving the man show while still married.

Strong possibility he was trying to get fired, this way he gets to go out in a blaze of glory and can be a left wing folk hero.
Otherwise they were just gonna end the show in the near future anyway just due it being a low rated piece of shite.

Either that or he definitely enjoyed taking a pounding. If you whore yourself out for money, karma will eventually catch up to you once of these days.

Nope
It’s about context. This is late night television. I didnt find his comment all that earthshattering either but that’s just me. He’s getting spanked because his ratings are horrible and he’s overpaid. They also might be tired of his political takes too.
Chill on the absolutist thinking. It’ll help you out getting along with others.

You’re the unquestioning useful person who Kimmel & his writers were talking to.
That’s just you.

The liberals should be glad he's gone, he makes their side look worse every time he opens his mouth. ABC did them a massive favor getting rid of him.

It's worse with local "news" affiliates.
Nearly every major newspaper in Alabama now exists as a corporate monstrosity named al.com which has practically zero connection with the communities it covers.
Gray owns most of the television affiliates in this state, including more than one in the larger cities. I think the majority of local affiliates nationwide are owned by like 6 giant corporations.
All of this completely defeats the purpose of journalism. Some people call this bullshite "free market", but it is capitalism entirely without principle... which at some point becomes just as bad as socialism, just in a different way.
