We all know the brouhaha over professional, college, high school and children's sports teams having names that are culturally insensitive, the SJWs even claim some of these names are rooted in racism....to say these loons have opened a 55 gallon drum of worms is an understatement. We have to take this SJW outrage to its logical conclusion.
Let's start with the names of dozens of states in our republic, were the indigenous people consulted before our racist politicians made a decision on the names given to such states as Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, the Dakotas, Iowa, Nebraska? I have to believe the indigenous people were given no consideration on these decisions. I have no issue using the indigenous peoples tribal names or references for the names of various states but I wonder what the indigenous people think about it? You can imagine how many Tomahawk Drives/Roads there are across America, how do the indigenous people feel about that. Poor Indian Motorcycle company....love the history of that motorcycle, the only true rival to Harley Davidson.....I wonder how the indigenous people feel about a motorcycle built by invading racists?
Well, I can only say what some would call absurd^^^^ is only absurd today. When you're dealing with the Slippery Slope Party absurdity is to be expected.

When Washington DC is awarded statehood, they’ll have to change the name, because we can’t have a new state named after a white slave owner!

don't forget Mississippi and Alabama.

Louisiana has to change because it is named after an evil white guy and his wife.

I have a pretty unique perspective on this relative to this board, and I can tell you that a very small minority of native people care about these things.

Well, if the Marxist loons had their way much of America's history would be like wiped clean and they would begin their socialist utopia with a clean slate.

Of course. They want Year Zero, where there is no past.

Absolutely agree.......it's not about indigenous Americans just like much of the white guilt SJW madness isn't about whatever it is they're whining about.

White liberals just love telling minorities they should be outraged and then use the few they convince as proof that their causes are just

Well, as I learned from some enlightening articles linked on this board, the ones who don't care about these things are simply inflicting their "multi-racial whiteness" on the world.
(I just learned this term after reading those articles mentioned. I'm hoping to work it into everyday conversation to prove how woke I am).

It’s all about money. Those using these phrases to dismiss natives have been either denied funding from a tribe, or enrollment entirely.
Simply put, it’s rooted in jealousy.

Washington state also.
I have wondered for a long time when this push would happen. There are tons of states, cities and counties that have indigenous names also. Illinois, Utah. INDIANA! Tuscaloosa, Tallahassee. Cherokee and Choctaw counties in multiple states. They would have to start from scratch to rename everything.
