So if that's the point Srbtiger(?) was making with his comment to me (thank you for clarifying, btw), it's moot.

Absolutely not my point. I'm not trying to be confrontational, I'm just honestly curious what the prayer was for.

I'll admit I'm not super religious. Looking at the world, going mountain biking, taking the boat out, I can't help but think there's something that made this. It is too amazing and awe-inspiring to not be. What that is, I have no idea. I just have a hard time believing whatever that higher power is thought "man, America needs Trump" or "man, gotta save my people from Hillary".

Personally, I would hope god would temper the rhetoric and fear people have, candidate be damned. That's obviously not something we're seeing.

Praying isn't rubbing a lamp and having a genie pop out, son

First off I'm not your son.

Second, why would god have interest in the outcome of a country that wasn't founded on the Christian religion? I think you're saying prayer worked because your man was elected or maybe telling yourself that helps you sleep at night. Prayer had nothing to do with this election. Anything can be covered with the "God's will" phrase. It was god will for hitler to murder 6 million of his chosen people? Isis was formed because we didn't pray enough or was that God's will?

Just wondering, did you guys forget to pray in 08?

Prayed for America in 08 and in 12 because I knew obama was the devil. Unfortunately sometimes we (America) just think "we got this" all on our own but the Lord will eventually let us know who reigns supreme and teaches us a lesson in His own way. Sometimes we can't or don't want to see the lesson ('08) so He teaches us again ('12) until we realize (finally in 2016) that without Him we are nothing.
I firmly believe that America was finally humbled enough that we came together and there were a lot more prayers as a nation to keep the evil (clinton, ...the continuation of the devil/obama in our lives) from destroying America as we know it, and prayers and Devine intervention happened. America has been severely humiliated, tarnished, and battered the past 8 years.
In other words, we sometimes have to be humbled and taught lessons by the Lord in order for us to realize that without Him, we are nothing and it is Him who ultimately reigns supreme.
There's a reason for "In God We Trust"................

Pretty much just "Your will be done".

I'm just happy his will aligned with mine this time around.

...well, God IS probably pretty damn intelligent, so I would guess the answer to be "yes, He is a Republican"...

Absolutely.
But it was really more praying for the nation to find and return to God.

Because if you look at all the melting people out there who have no identity or personal accountability and freak out at the first sign of turbulence - they need Jesus! No other excuse for adults to be that fearful and emotionally fragile.

Actually, I did. I struggle with my faith and objectively I don't know if there is actually a supreme being listening but I do it because that is how I was raised and it seems to provide some measure of comfort during tough times.

This is the first time I have prayed about an election.

Christians never admit to praying for stuff that didn't happen. Sort of like gamblers never talk about the money they lose.

You won't understand most of what He does--it's not your job to do so.
Your charge is to have faith in Him and to lead a Godly life.

religion 101 we don't know how it happened or why. but don't question it and just believe. I cant understand this logic. sounds like blind sheep to me.

Pray and things go your way - it's a miracle!

Pray and things don't go your way - it's all part of Gods special plan.

shite like this is why people laugh at evangelicals.
