Did they actually cut TRUMP's mic in the debate?

There were a couple of occasions where his mic went out but quickly came back on. Was that truly a sound issue, or the person in the back cutting his mic?

He rattled off a good answer on funding HBCUs, and the mic cut out mid sentence for the words “historically black”

They cut his mic and then the Trump staffer in the sound booth probably slapped the back of the person’s head and it came back on.

I like to think there was a constant sword fight going on in the control room around the mute button, which is what explains it cutting in and out.....kinda like zoolander

I noticed this too and thought it was very convenient how the mic cut out during the most important words of that response.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but there were a few moments where it looked like Biden oddly interjected a comment as if he was fed something through an earpiece. It just didn't seem natural.
If I want to torture myself by rewatching a debate, maybe I will find the moments where it stood out. Or maybe that's just me operating on too little sleep this week.

They censored him at least twice, once when he commented on what he had done for HBC's or similar and once he said Joe was full of shite.
