Yes. However I'd rather ask the board so you can ask me if I know how to use google.

In general you are correct. However on the tails of the bell curve this general rule is broken. For example Al Copland built a restaurant empire with a 10th grade education simply by adding cayenne pepper to his fried chicken recipe.

Right. However the most important point is that everyone has the same opportunity to win or lose.

I don't think he is saying that. My interpretation is that the ability to earn money is higher with higher IQ people versus lower IQ people. There is a high correlation between IQ and earnings.

Unfortunately, they really aren't. The US Military is the best means to upward mobility in the US, and with an IQ that low, they won't take you.

They'll be stuck working minimum wage jobs -- can't be a skilled tradesman if you're that dumb -- and being a general drain on society their entire lives.

Sucks, but it's true.

He didn't say anything about being super rich and successful, just that everybody has the opportunity to put their mind to something and be great at it - which is true. There's some niche out there for everyone, even if you're below average intelligence. You may be terrible at math and science but that doesn't stop you from being the best damn plumber around, or the best mailman. Freeman is saying that everyone has that opportunity if they put their mind and will to it, there's nothing like race (or intelligence) stopping you.

Forrest Gump parlayed that into a Fishing & Restaurant Empire then he helped fund Apple.

The latter was because Lt. Dan had great investing foresight. Sometimes people need a little help.

Yup and the black community shite all over him for it.

Also his quote:

I am a young, black, rich motherfricker. If that don't let you know that America understand black motherfrickers matter these days, I don't know what it is.

Meh. I'm not crazy about Don Lemon, generally, but he was more in agreement than disagreement with Mr. Freeman during this particular interview.
