I've bought two guns over the internet, and both times they had to go through an FFL and 4473 background check.

Man the left is so willfully ignorant on guns.

"the law does not apply to those guns bought over the internet or at gun shows".

BS. BS. BS. Internet sales have to be shipped from a FFL to a FFL for pick-up by the purchaser. That FFL is REQUIRED BY LAW to perform a background check.

I have never been to a gun show where background checks weren't required.

The only time I have seen guns change hands without a background check is when my father handed me some of his guns that he didn't want wife #5 to ever get her hands on. Unfortunately when I was hauling them on a boat they all sank.

Man, I'm gonna start an online boating safety course with an emphasis on asset protection and make a zillion dollars.

Good luck getting anyone to enroll. I know boating really well, it just seems like every time I get a new gun there is a boating incident.

needed to ash him, what about virginia. As soon as the obvious needs, like background checks have come into law, they go after another step, thn another. It is time to put a halt to this creeping eruption.

In theory, it would be legal for a non-licensed private seller to sell guns at a gun show with no background check but most, (possibly all), gun shows today go beyond legal requirements and require checks on all sales. And a genuine private seller with a handful of guns would come out much better monetarily by consigning those guns to a licensed dealer to sell than paying an outrageous registration fee for a table at a gun show. I can remember when there really were private sellers at gun shows but that's been 20+ years ago. There is a legal loophole but it doesn't exist in reality.

I've bought a couple of firearms through private sale, and been gifted a couple more (unfortunately I lost them all in a Bourre game), and never had to fill out any paperwork whatsoever.

I also bought a chainsaw once through a private sale (unfortunately I wasn't careful enough about not using ethanol-free gas). Didn't have to do any paperwork for that either.

No such legal loophole period. If you think otherwise then you need to actually read the applicable laws.

I don’t care on what side you fall on the 2A/gun control issue, or what you think of Bloomberg, that exchange with was hardly an evisceration.

Why do Democrats always lie about gun control? I like how he sidesteps the question about his armed security staff versus an everyday American owning a gun.

That midget is a lying POS.

It’s not “in theory”. It is legal for a citizen to sell a gun to another citizen from the same state.
