1985 in Saudi Arabia starting up a petrochemical complex eastern and western bath room standards clashed. Eastern folks stood on the toilet seats used hoses to wipe off, splashing poop every where. Western folks were pretty much disgusted . Then one night, some near do well, starting slitting the hose up high where it sprayed the user in the chest rather than down below. We replaced a lot of hoses in the next 2 years

Muslims wash their feet at airports to perform wudu (ablution), a ritual cleansing required before daily prayers.
