I am not sure where Trump stands on the IRS, so would like to hear the counter from his camp. The IRS has so many tentacles into our daily lives, and anyone proposing to demolish that Leviathan, has my attention

Trump was actually trying to get everyone to where we filed the same tax form. Thus eliminating the need for a million IRS assholes.

It would be a step in the right direction, unfortunately the federal government never steps in the right direction. The establishment would never allow this to happen and DeSantis knows this but it sounds really good when one is trying to get elected.

The IRS is quite literally equipped for war if anyone tries to dismantle them.

This is like the 5th grader running for class President saying he will give longer recess.

Its fun to pretend thats possible.

Making war on the people would be an insurrection.

This is an improvement. But would like to get to the point where the entire tax industry is eliminated. Raise tariffs, and if you need to tax anything, do it on consumer goods especially imported goods. And remove the 16th Ammendment (pipe dream unfortunately)

If that were remotely possible he’d be disposed of before the primary.

This is why the first step is to cut their funding and take their power away.

No, it is utterly nonserious.

The Senate will be at MOST 52 Republicans, including:

McConnell
Cornyn
Graham
Murkowski
Collins
Tillis
Ernst
Britt
the waffler from MS
and some more I forgot about

What sort of fricking idiot this this nonsense is remotely realistic in the next 10 years at least?

This bullshite reminds me of Boys State back in the day.

Do we select a president based on hypothetical debating points or based on what one might actually DO?

Give us DeSantis' Day 1 list. I am pretty sure Trump has one out there. Let's compare those.

It sounds like DeSantis and his supporters are due for an audit.

Yep, and they have 'gunned up', along with other Government Institutions and derivative 'Programs'. I well remember Obama saying that we need a "Government Police Force". Got my attention.

I would love to see DeSantis be Trump's VP. Seems that would be ideal if one is truly intent on taking down the Deep State 'Kracken'. Unity is everything in a hard fight.

National sales tax makes EVERYONE pay. EVERYONE has skin in the game. Tax "avoidance" is available to EVERYONE because they can reduce their tax burden by spending less/smarter. It also means that the "rich" will pay their "fair share" because they buy more things and more expensive things. Frees up investment, savings, retirement, which would no longer be taxed.

Plus, it would make people give a damn about government spending and tax policy.

Your problem is an unwillingness to think outside the box.

I agree, that if you simply look at it as a math problem with needing X number of Senators on your side of the issuento get the votes, and if you don't have that, then it is unthinkable.

Of you are willing to use leverage points to your advantage things like this can be achieved.
