Probably

And people on this board will be quick to take the bait

It's going to take such little effort to turn Trump's diehard folks on Desantis. I hope it doesn't happen but I'll be shocked if it can be avoided.

DeSantis carries heavily Hispanic states like Florida, Texas, Arizona and California in the republican primaries if Trump is his only opponent.

Someone may have already set this thread straight, but there's too many pages for me to search. So, SIAP, but this is fake news.

Remember when the prog legislator said DeSantis made Jax turn off the gay bridge lights.

He didn’t.

This is one of those rakes Trump doesn't need to step on, use an inner monologue and hit a different state or part of FL

He’s only stepped on rakes… he’d still be the president otherwise.

DeSantis needs to run and Trump needs to sit down. He had his chance.

I really hate this idea that if tragedy occurs somewhere all of activity should cease. At the same time going about your life should not make you human scum. Should people really stop everything they are doing and stand around for months on end until this event reaches it’s sad conclusion?

No democrats will be voting.

You are just wrong if you think Trump can beat DeSantis in those states. (there may be developments in the future but today he could not and it would even be close.)

Trump has every right to run again. I hope he doesn't as he won't be able to win and we'd be handing 2024 and 2028 over to the Dems on a silver platter. I just can't see DeSantis beating Trump in a primary. I also can't see a scenario where Trump doesn't run. His ego is too big and he can't comprehend that the best thing for the success of the party is for him to not run and get behind DeSantis.

With that being said, if we want to actually fricking win, we need him to not run so DeSantis can cruise to victory in November of 2024. He's a shoe-in for 8 years in the WH and the only thing fricking that up is Trump running and getting the nomination.

It comes down to this: Do we want to win or lose?

If you want to win and get 8 years in the WH, DeSantis is your guy. If you want to temporarily feel good and then have things come crashing down with a loss in November of 2024, Trump is your guy.

It's as simple as that.

We agree on this, he has the right but he’ll either 1) win and the country will go up in flames or 2) lose and we are stuck with Kamala.
