I just had a great idea. Kemp doesn't want to live in DC and be a senator. But for the good of the country, he should run against ossoff, win handily, then assuming the next GA governor is also a Republican, he can simply resign and he and the new gov can hand pick the replacement. Then he can go back to Athens and clean his guns in his rocking chair on the porch. And then when Warnock's seat comes up for grabs, rinse and repeat.

Dooley has no business as a US Senator.

And Ossoff does?

I still get a laugh every time I see Tubberville on the Senate floor. He may be a statesman now but I will always remember him smoking cigars on the field in Tiger Stadium. Then we got our revenge two years later.

I like Dooley and wish him luck but I will always picture him storming off the field after the 13 men on the field game.

Of course not. Ossoff is barely even from Georgia. He's a dipshit trust fund baby who has contempt for half the state he supposedly represents.

But, he's an incumbent - which aren't easy to unseat, particularly in purpling Georgia.

If Derek Dooley is the best the GOP can produce in Georgia, Ossoff will skate to reelection.

Just because I can see that it's raining doesn't mean I'm hoping for a flood, bud.

Half the members of the legislative branch have no business being there. It’s a symbol of how shitty the electorate is.

What I said was an indictment of Dooley, not an endorsement of Tubs.

Though I'm not an AL resident, I have been pleasantly surprised at most of what Tubs has done.

I know some say Dooley will have a decent chance at winning but why in the frick can't Georgia just find a competent somewhat moderate Republican politician to run for their senate seats?

Not a fan of Ossoff but even I wouldn't go this far with him being born here, growing up here, and spending most of the last decade here.

I think there is a sense that nobody on the bench really has the muscle for what will be a national, high dollar fight. I don't know if that's fair, but that's what I think is happening, hence the need for an "angle."

Given that it isn't Kemp and we don't have a rising star that is a natural choice, I don't really think it matters who it is. What we need 100x more than any other aspect is Kemp's organization and Trump's support.

I love Brian Kemp. I wish he would run. I think he is going to run for POTUS but lose the primary and end his career. The more logical thing for him would allow Vance - Rubio to play out and be in the Senate and then run in 2032/36.

Kemp will be in his late 60s/early 70s by that point and likely tired of being in office (which may be the case now).

I hope he just wants out

Because exploring 2028 with running against Warnock (also 2028) as a backup is a bad idea.

Kemp IS running for POTUS. I assume he’s intelligent enough to know he has no chance and is jockeying for a cabinet position.

Kemp would be solid. I would vote for him in a primary over Vance. Kemp-Rubio is a strong arse ticket.
