The current system is just not fair. The power to the American people shall be invested in the popular vote. Experts think it is much more beneficial for the country, too
Translation......CA, NY, IL and 2-3 other Dim utopia states/cities should control the rest of the country......I don’t think so.

How is an electoral college fair? Why can't the majority decide? It's decided that way in every other race
And it would be fair to let the people of Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta decide the presidential election every four years??

If the US amended the Constitution snd went to a popular vote for president, the country would end up like NY State where NY metro calls all the shots at the state level.
Talk to any citizen of upstate NY snd they will tell you they gave no say so in state wide elections.

We're about to hear this refrain a lot. Mixed in with a bucket of tears, of course.

I was listening to a public radio station yesterday while driving that had a clear democrat bias. They were discussing the Electoral College and the Historian on the show was saying the Electoral college was put into place because of slavery and was based on the country's racist past.
It was clear that she was trying to lay false groundwork for Democrats to try to change the Electoral College system. So sad they have to sink that low to try and get ignorant people to support them.
Then later last night the local news had another historian professor on and she was saying that most of the country in 2016 supported Clinton but the large voter populations centers in the middle of the country were Trump supporters. It was completely the opposite but the newscaster just let it go as fact.

No. Land doesn't vote, people do. The current system discourages voting because too many people feel their votes won't count in certain states.
Idiot...without the EC then your vote truly doesn't count.

Group think. The founders understood populous cities would be echo chambers and not equally represent the entire country.
Why has it worked for 200 years and now y'all are claiming its unfair?

Land doesn't vote, dumbass
Going to try to use math and logic to educate you. For every person living in the US, 8 acres of rural land (crops, ranges, and wilderness) are required to sustain our healthy, well-nourished existence (food, air, water, natural resourcss). Countries that have less than 5 acres per person suffer from malnutrition, famine, poor air & water quality.
Therefore if Harris County, TX has ~ 4.7 million people, 37.6 million acres of rural land (larger than the state of Alabama) are required to sustain the urban area. There are people required to farm the livestock, crops, and timber required.
Knowing that rural areas were vital to sustaining urban areas (without farms in the countryside, cities would be towns and villages) the electoral college was enacted so that the people in the rural areas had representation in presidential elections.
Furthermore, the founding fathers were highly educated men. They knew every democracy on earth has failef and devolved into “mob rule” - read the Federalist Papers. They sought a republic with democratic aspects.

city can't vote, people vote
And the people that live in LA and new York have absolutely zero clue what's happening in the rest of the world.
You do realize people are not voting on president, the state's are...right?
