Democrats clinging to this type of thinking around Iran “deal”

Have a very intelligent friend that is very democratic, and he is essentially throwing all his weight behind the thinking and “facts” in this article. I can’t find much out there that contradicts what’s in the article around what Iran has done to “comply” and what Trump’s advisors are saying. Any of you got some counter points and facts to refute this one? I hate the deal and think it’s rediculous, but just saying that or “Trump thinks they are screwing around” don’t suffice.

Trump claimed in his televised speech today that Iran is cheating on the deal, but his own intelligence directors have said there is no evidence of this claim whatsoever. The International Atomic Energy Agency has certified Iran’s compliance 10 times since the deal was signed. Secretary of Defense James Mattis testified to a Senate committee last month that, after reading the 140-page agreement three times, he was struck by how “robust” the deal’s verification provisions were.
It’s also the case that the most influential backers of Trump’s decision—Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, national security adviser John Bolton, and the Sunni Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia—are fervent advocates of regime change in Iran, by force if necessary.
From early on in his presidential campaign, Trump promised to kill the accord, which he has repeatedly called “the worst deal” ever “drawn up by anybody.” Here is where ignorance enters the picture. As evidence of his charge, Trump used to claim that the deal required us to pay Iran $100 billion—when, in fact, it merely required us to return Iranian assets that we’d frozen. (Also the $100 billion is a rough estimate of assets frozen not just by the U.S. but worldwide.) Far from a bad deal, this seemed like a fair trade: We had frozen their assets as punishment for their illegal nuclear program; therefore, in exchange for dismantling the program, we would unfreeze the assets.

You mean besides all that documentation that's just been recovered that said they were shelving it only to restart it at a later date?

North Korea, Syria and Iran next.
Tell your smart friend to deal with it.

Trump is only doing it because he can, he likes to throw his stupidity around because he is able to. He's like a child with little or no thought based in facts.
ofcourse Iran is complying with the deal, we had regulators there on the ground monitoring their dissassembly efforts.
Trump and Trumpkins are the only idiots that believe this was a bad deal and its not like you could have kept the Iranian efforts in check for 10 years and then renegotiate, but again Trump is a child.

There should be no deal with a people that believe that the world needs to be destroyed to bring back their 12th Imam. You allow these crazies to get nuclear weapons and it’s over. These ain’t like North Korea who just want leverage, these nuts believe through complete destruction their savior is reborn...

It amazes me how people can have such trust in Iran yet total distrust of Russis. Those two are tied at the hip in ME affairs and if Iran gets nukes I’m sure Russia will be advising them in their efforts.

Just been recovered?
Nothing Bibi mentioned was new. Everyone knew Iran had a secret nuclear program before the deal - that’s why we pursued a nuclear deal in the first place.
There’s zero evidence that Iran violated the deal. Trump just really wanted to cancel the deal and he’s President so that’s what’s going to happen. Wouldn’t surprise me if Europe and China basically resign the same deal with Iran and basically the status quo is maintained.

I'm in Trump's corner on most things, but this is one subject where it's difficult to tell whether this is much more than hurr durr Obammer makes bad deals. It feels like each side just supports whatever their boy did. If Bibi really did undress the whole thing, then I stand corrected.

Certified their compliance to a deal that requires no on ground inspections.

What Vol said, there was nothing new in Bibi’s presentation.
The question is, does a freeze serve our interests, or do sanctions?
The problem is that, yes, the Iranians will restart their program, and so the hawks will respond, like they did last time, by pushing for war with Iran.

Isn't that essentially what the deal is? They temporarily agreed to stop doing something that we can't really stop them doing otherwise without a ground invasion, and we agreed to give them back their own money. On a plane.

Jesus H. Jumped up Christ, I always KNEW you were pathetic and stupid, based upon the vacuous sky screaming out of touch with reality blather that you have spewed before in other threads, and like most sniveling anti-reality, anti-Americans, I laughed at you and pitied your stupidity and ignorance.....but with the above quote, you have reduced yourself even lower than your mom's basement.
I still laugh at you...but I'm not sure I pity you any more......How is it that you live like a wretched little Gollum-like creature in this country?

Iran today admitted that they had been enriching uranium despite numerous denials in the past. That’s enough

My understanding of the deal was the destruction of any progress made towards nukes, not storing it away for later use.

Never understood why we paid them interest on the money we’d frozen. frick them.

STOP EMBARRASSING THE STATE.
I know Arkansas is mostly fricking hayseeds but you don't have to come here and prove it daily.

Well in all fairness, the right accused Obarry of being a Muslim sympathizer, I suppose it’s only natural that Trump be labeled as a Zionist.
