I'm a left-leaning moderate that identifies as a Democrat. I don't post too much on PT but I don't have an account with DU. With that being said, DU is a freaking shitshow compared to PT. I've noticed most if not all of the people on DU sound like a bunch of crybabies.
I've observed if you disagree with them on one thing they will kill you for it. It boggles my mind why the people on there treat Hillary like a goddess and Trump is not their president. The Anti-Trump sentiment from the left is bigger than the Anti-Obama sentiment from the right that it's ridiculous.
While I didn't vote for Trump, at least I acknowledge that there are some good things that he's done that I like: his handling of NK, reduction of work visas, just to name a few.
I bet if I were to create an account with DU and posted this same thing, I would get flamed by everyone there and probably banned since all their posts are filled with minimal reasoning. They'd also probably call me a troll or a Russian bot just for disagreeing with them. What those morons fail to realize is that while they claim the Republicans are a bunch of bigots, they themselves have small bigoted minds it's ironic.
Tl;dr: If you really hate Trump then vote him out in 2020. Until at least 2020, he's still your president libtards.

It was actually a nice place of refuge when they were raging against Bush-Cheney stupid wars, Patriot Act, etc. But, they've lost their way after Obama and are now authoritarians in part because they don't know how to handle Trump.
I'll say this about a board like that. They almost have to irrationally ban people because it's impossible to tell who is a troll/concern troll. So, of course, it's going to turn into an extreme echo chamber.

They have to ban people because they can't have a logical discussion. It's like debating a spoiled child. Anyone that has a different opinion is literally Hitler, racist, sexist, or homophobic. There is no middle ground with people that use emotions over logic.

If you’re having a bad day, feeling depressed, feeling like a failure in life... just skip over to Walmart/DU and people watch for a little bit.
Just sit back and observe. Like an exhibit at a museum or zoo. If you don’t come back out feeling refreshed, revitalized, and feeling like you have the world by the balls, then idk what to tell you.

Biggest example of this:
When someone like Jeff Flake or Bob Corker is critical of something Trump did, the people on DU say something along the lines of, "Too late Senator your words mean nothing since you still support Trump by voting for the Tax cuts."
Umm...have you morons even slightly considered that the politician voted for the cuts because that's actually one of the key principles of conservatism?

Progressives are Fundamentalists. All rules that apply to any form of Fundamentalism applies to Progressivism. Everything about it is organized to keep those inside the herd, within the herd at all costs. That requires a Shock Troop Vanguard that enforces the Progressive Fundamentalist Orthodoxy and extract a cost from those who stray. Look at ANY high profile Progressive who strays from any orthodoxy (Kanye) on Twitter or DU and watch what happens to them.
