The 2024 season was predicted to be very bad due to .... climate change.
quote:

NOAA’s outlook for the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, which spans from June 1 to November 30, predicts an 85% chance of an above-normal season

17 to 25 total named storms, 8 to 13 hurricanes, including 4 to 7 major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5)
LINK
So far in this 2024 season we've had 1/2 that number, including just 2 major hurricanes, 1 of which (Helene) hit the US. What changed? Must be the climate?

I don't think anywhere in the world can handle 25+ inches of rain in 24hours and not expect massive flooding.

So we 'solved' climate change. Neat.

The Earth’s climate has been changing for 4.5 billion years. Nothing humans can do can “change” that.

Stop taking my fricking tax dollars for climate change.

No. No.
The climate changed. You know ... that's why the predictions were so wrong.

It was predicted to be an active season because we were moving from an El Nino condition to a La Nina condition.

I said the same thing last night! A few years ago, we had 2 major hurricanes hit us here in SW Louisiana. Several years go by and the same number make landfall. Definitely not an increase.

I wish Vance would have pointed this out. Climate change bullshite needs to be confronted.

and?

quote:

our increasingly challenging climate landscape
and
quote:

Human-caused climate change is warming our ocean globally and in the Atlantic basin, and melting ice on land, leading to sea level rise, which increases the risk of storm surge.
Those are quotes from the same NOAA paper, for anyone not appreciating the dripping sarcasm

Walz said Helene was stronger than ever. I could have swore we’ve had a few dozen stronger than 140 mph.

They have been over estimating hurricanes a lot for the last few years and climate change hasn't delivered.

Climate change is real...but thats because the earths climate is always changing. We are coming out of an ice age.

The question of if humans are affecting it is the debate. Id imagine to some degree we are, but not at the rate that some want us to think.

where they lost EVER convincing humans that we were responsible and we need to change was when they cried wolf so many times prior. in the 70's it was an ice age, then gas shortage, then in the 90's it was Ozone, now its global warming. People become numb to it, especially when the elites demand us normals change our ways, while corporations and elites skate free, and contribue to PPM far more than all of us combined could do.

as for the storm, I have no clue if its true, but someone said that this storm grew in intensity quicker because the waters were relatively undisturbed. Now that we have had a storm , the next one shouldnt be near as bad intensity wise

Scientists agree that Anthropogenic Climate Change is a total farce. (All I need to make that statement true, and it is, is two scientists.)

it was literally the 2nd question in the debate.

Climate change.

With all the terrible shite going on in this country and around the world.

Climate change.

This storm was a fluky weather event. This notion that EVERY fluky weather event = “climate change” (and specifically related to something man-made) seems to me the most preposterous idea of “science” imaginable.
