To have -any- measure of faith in our governing apparatus is to misunderstand it.

We, the people ourselves, have allowed a system to develop where our "leaders" only act in self-interest. They get rich, they dgaf about the rest of us or the future of our country. They're incentivized not to care about our future.

And we keep talking "term limits term limits!" but ..... most of you will keeeeeeep voting the same people in.

Some of those guys need to take a hard look at themselves. It is long past time to end this BS. It’s getting to the point that these idiots should resign and go back to being local pols. Their grievances and egos are out of control. They seemed to have lost the concept that they were elected to do a job. If they are unwilling to do that, they need to quit and allow someone else to fill their slots.

There has rarely been a time in our country that our party has needed real leaders and leadership from the conservative side more than right now.

Where are those leaders? Where is that leadership?

I keep watching them eat each other or give each other hand jobs while the country waits and burns.

I don’t have an alternative. I won’t vote for the nuts on the left. They are literally crazy. But WTF?

This is like living in the twilight zone. The world is burning and petty differences and worries about future elections in home states are preventing unification of a party to try to save it?

However this turns out, it’s going to take a long time for me to forgive this petty shite.

I thought that we were the voice of reason in hard times. The eye of the hurricane. I was wrong.

You don't have in the Republican party what you think you have. You, like most, make the false assumption that because the Democrats are evil, Republicans must be good. That's wrong to a great degree.

Everything you are seeing that is pissing you off is actually a sign of the Republican party fixing itself. It's a true battle of the people vs. the leadership.

You aren't close to understanding what's going on.

These representatives shouldn't really be voting on what they, personally, think. They should be voting based on what the majority of their constituents think

This is not how our country is represented. And there are far too many items out there too nuanced for the general public to understand and form a complete opinion on one way or the other.

That's very different than saying that representatives should vote with the will of the people they represent. That's what you said.

It’s quite embarrassing and they at the same time are losing all credibility for all future votes when something is on the line.
Wish washy pisses of shite.
Stand up and find a God damn person to represent the group.
Sad sad state of affairs

This nation is too diverse to be led by one federal govt with two parties for millions of people.

I agree. We need to do dispassionate mass deportation. And then we still need to break up fedgov over-reach, improve states rights over fedgov, abolish IRS, etc... for starters.

The same can be said for politicians in regard to the vast majority of issues they vote on.

I don’t think representatives should necessarily follow the preferences of their constituents on any given issue once elected. That’s what elections are for. It’s the same thing.

Public opinion is wrong. A lot.
