He already came out and said the affordable housing part was fake. All the houses range from 200-600k. He oppose the whole project
Yeah, from the article it sound like they sold the project with the affordable housing and some single family homes, but ended up ditching the affordable housing part to sell more expensive houses. If I were him I'd oppose the whole thing regardless, though.

Chappelle, who plans to open a restaurant and a comedy club in the area under his company Iron Table Holdings LLC
Wants people with actual money to live there and give him his patronage. Low Income housing would tank the surrounding property values and increase crime.
Don't know why people are surprised. He said it best in one of his specials "I don't want to be your hero I want to be rich"

What are you going to do if TRUMP gets reelected?!
Chappelle: Probably get a sizeable tax break

I wouldn't exactly call 200k to 600k "low income housing".
They revised it to allow only single family starting at 300k.

Fake news, yet many will comment without knowing the details.

What do you think a $200,000 house is in this day and age? THAT’s and “affordable” low income house.

Depends on where you live

I don’t really know Chapelle’s politics- but he doesn’t strike me as a limousine liberal.
IOW - he doesn’t strike me as a person that thinks this is a good idea in his backyard or anyone else’s backyard.
What is most troubling about people who advocate for these idiotic kind of policies is that they usually are limousine liberals who do it to assuage their random guilt about their own good fortune as indicated by the fact that they never seem to suggest building these monstrosities in their own neighborhoods.
If Martha’s Vinyard wanted to put wind farms or affordable housing or permit people to live on common areas in their neighborhood - I’d say - have at it.
Whereas Dave Chapelle seems to have moved to rural Ohio as a means to have escaped these moronic policies advocated by them. I don’t think that he believes this is a good idea for anyone.

Man, Dave Chappelle didn't work hard all these years for some idiot white liberals to build the projects right next to his place. GTFOH.

That's awesome and exactly what needs to be happening. So tired of these greedy contractors and greedy planning boards selling out our cities.

No one with money wants affordable housing built near them

quote:So, it's high density housing, not affordable housing. Either way, I agree with Chappelle. Anything that changes, negatively, the town's complexity that is a detraction from the norm, should be refused.
It's not section 8 housing.
Just "affordable" housing.
Article said the cheapest homes would be condos starting at 200k, houses would cost far more.

Mixed income housing is bad for everyone, but it’s especially bad for poor people.

Which poor people? Because they seem to be thriving on the dole from a biological perspective.

I bet if he had bent the knee about trannies, this story would not exist.
