10K fewer new cases today than 2 Saturdays ago (with 25K more tests today)
4K fewer new cases today than last Saturday (with 50K more tests today)

New Cases declined today on the back of a 300K testing day with only 8.4% positives.
Deaths fell for the 4th straight day. Excluding NY, deaths were at 1,236 the low of a 4-day trend.
Mortality stayed level at 5.9%
The 7-day rolling averages for cases and deaths show a slight acceleration to the downward movement.

United Kingdom just a bit ago surpassed Italy in total number of cases. Italy reports just 800 new cases today.
It also looks like Russia is on pace to pass Italy in the next couple of days based on new case trend.

Its a Sunday and the numbers are really low. The good news is that these are some of the lowest new cases and death numbers we've seen in weeks so the overall downward trend continues to strengthen.
Testing at 277K was below the recent levels we've seen, but the % positive was only 7.8%, the lowest number yet. I think it's obvious now the testing focus has transitioned away from symptomatic individuals.

I know it is borderline meaningless because of all of the, pardon the expression, "frickery" in the published numbers, but insofar as we have numbers, these are the lowest since March 29th (I believe) on both metrics.
And, in real terms, March 29th might as well have been years ago.

If memory serves me correctly, last Sunday was around 1100 deaths. If so, that’s a 350 drop from last Sunday. Of note is that New York only reported 41 deaths today.

On 4/10, we had 510,000 total cases. A month later, we only have 256,000 total recovered. I know one is paying attention to the stat. But it’s obviously garbage and just wanted to point it out.

About a month ago, I counted 29 states that were not reporting recoveries. Right now, there are still 12 states that have counted fewer than 1,000 recoveries, and I wasn’t even counting the low case count states. It leads people to believe there are far more active, contagious cases than there really are.

I stopped paying attention because I don't know that I can trust any of the numbers as the recoveries are so comically wrong.

Today's Case and Death numbers look abnormally low for this time of the day. Typically Mondays are from Sunday.

Well, less places to count the Rona. Flu deaths fall off a cliff every April. Less flu patients that also test positive for Rona means less Rona deaths.
